Milk protein shake is also a good option when you are attempting to gain or build muscles rapidly

Protein shakes are becoming highly popular as a protein supplement. Most exercise workout programs are coupled with protein shakes to help with weight loss and muscle mass building.

Protein shakes are essential to keep the amount of protein needed by the body. Though solid foods are best source of protein, these are hard to prepare especially for the busy you. These also take time to digest and break down before they get assimilated to the body. Good thing, protein shakes are available, they are easy to prepare and can provide the right amount of protein you need. They are also absorbed by the muscles faster and work faster than solid foods.

Protein powder comes in different flavors and can be added with milk to come up with a great tasting milk protein shake. Since most protein powder when added with water may have a bland taste (depending on which brand you use of course), adding milk into it will improve the taste. Milk also increases the calorie of the protein powder especially if you are using a brand that is plain protein powder and you take it as meal replacement. However, if you are one of those who have lactose intolerance problems then you might want to stick with water instead.

Others say that adding milk into your protein shake will increase the calorie and insulin amount in your shake. That is why if you prefer to choose milk for your protein shake, take it in the morning. This is because your stomach is empty after a long night and the insulin sensitivity and carbohydrate tolerance of the body is at their peak. Another best time to take your milk protein shake is post workout. After your workout, the muscles are experiencing micro tears and strains. Extra calories, insulin, and carbohydrates from your protein shake are helpful to provide the nutrients needed by the muscles to repair, recover and grow after a strenuous workout.

Milk protein shake is also a good option when you are attempting to gain or build muscles rapidly. Most people find it hard to gain lean muscles while maintaining enough calories needed by the body. Most often, they tend to eat large volume of meals to support the energy requirements however doing so, without properly planning your food intake will lead to a negative result. Protein shake mix with milk can increase the caloric total your body requires without eating large volume of meals that might lead to weight gain.
