Don’t be surprised if on your hike you see some wildlife too!

The most visited National Park in America is the Great Smoky Mountains NP with close to 10 million visitors every year.  The park stretches through parts of North Carolina and Tennessee making it accessible to many people residing in both the Southern and Eastern United States.  The area is great for summer vacations because of the abundance of hiking trails, wildlife viewing and other activities.
The Smokies are a great place to visit regardless of the time of year.  Whether you are hoping to view fall leaves, do some summer hiking or have a Smoky Mountain Christmas, you will have a great time.  There are tons of hiking trails including some that access the Appalachian Trail.  Don’t be surprised if on your hike you see some wildlife too!
Since the area appeals to so many vacationers every year a couple of towns have become a Mecca for those traveling there.  Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee are two small towns that have been able to capitalize on these visitors.  Pigeon Forge is the location of Dollywood, Dolly Parton’s amusement park which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.  It has lots of tasty food, roller coasters and an Appalachia feel to it.
Both cities main streets have exploded into streets lined with many tourist attractions including museums, miniature golf courses, restaurants and anything else you could want to do.  These streets become very busy on the weekends and holidays.
Since the Smokies see so many visitors a year, accommodations have sprouted up all over the place.  There are plenty of cabin rentals all across the area.  They can accommodate 2 sleepers or large families.  There are also many Campgrounds in both cities and in the mountains for trailer tents, RV’s and camping tents depending on whether or not you want to rough it. Of course, you could get stay at a hotel, as well, and there are plenty of them.

Have professional inspections. If you roof is more than 10 – 15 years old, call us or another professional contractor to inspect and provide maintenance (caulking etc.) to your roof every two to three years. For a minimal cost, you can catch leaks before they happen. Also, if you call us just before your five year guarantee is up – we would be happy to stop by and look things over for free.
