Pellet Gun Rabbit Hunting
Hunting rabbits is a great sport and simple to do once you get the hang of it. Picking your rifle is an important part of any hunting trip and you should choose a gun that is efficient, safe, and fits your needs. Although 22mm rifles are often used for hunting rabbits, a much similar solution is to use a pellet gun. They are very effective and easy to maintain and cost much less than a normal rile. There is no age limit to this gun, so hunting can be introduced to youngsters and novices as long as they know how to shoot.
Rabbit pellet gun hunting is not very complicated, but you will first have to find the rabbits. Some places are naturally better than others, but it isn’t hard to locate the hotspots if you have good information. Grass, broadleaf weeds, clovers, wheat, soybeans, and alfalfa are some of the favorite foods of rabbits, and you should be able to find some cottontails in areas that have a large amount of these kinds of shrubs. Small fields that are bordered by briars and brush are another hotspot, along with fencerows and drainages that have dense vegetation.
Snap shooting skills are extremely important for rabbit pellet gun hunting. Rabbits move extremely fast so you will only get one shot. If you see a moving rabbit, there will be no time to swing the shot, simply shoulder the gun and shoot in a single motion. This may seem like a complicated task for a novice hunter, but with a bit of practice you should be able to make this shot with ease. Rabbits are very sensitive to environment around them and the slightest move can send them running so move with a care and make sure you do not make any overly loud noises. Keep your firearm ready at all times, in case the animal starts to move without warning.
