There have been problems ranging from allergic reactions to neurological disruption and even cancer links. One of the main cosmetics that women use is foundation. There are many foundations that contain a lot of chemicals and synthetic ingredients, so many women are starting to do their own research and are choosing organic versions of their old standbys. Read the tips below on how to pick out the best organic foundation.

1.    Read the Labels – One of the most important things you can do with any beauty product that you are buying is to read the ingredient list and all of the labeling on the package or product description. This information will tell you exactly what ingredients are going into the product. You want to make sure you stay away from any chemicals or man-made ingredients. Parabens, sulfates and phlalates are especially bad.

2.    Choose Organic Brands – You can find a lot of chemical and paraben free makeup brands on the market today. Brands like Nvey Eco, Dr. Hauschka, and Physician’s Formula (Organic Wear) are all good options to research. If you take the time to research one brand thoroughly, you can probably be pretty sure that the rest of their products are of good quality as well.

3.    Match Up Your Old Foundation – One of the hardest things about buying new foundation is that you don’t know what color you will need in a new brand. The easy solution is to call or email the company and tell them what you are using now and see if they can find a similar match for you. Many companies will have comparison charts that they can reference. You can also bring you old bottle to the store with you and try to match them up. Also make sure to try and test a foundation before you buy. Buy from a reputable store or online shop so that you can return the foundation or exchange it if it is not exactly the right color.
