Unless you have a particularly elderly or ill dog then your canine friend will need plenty of daily exercise. Most dogs have boundless energy and should enjoy 2 good walks per day to try and burn some of it off (though often they will seem just as energetic at the end of the walk as the beginning!) It is not just expending energy that is important about walks. If you leave your pet all day in his dog crate then, just as a human would, he will become bored. More often than not this boredom will lead to bad behaviour, either chewing or destroying items around the house or persistent barking at people passing by the house or coming to the front door.
Of course you can’t spend all day exercising your dog. Work commitments and a need to do other things, such as eat, mean that you cannot always give your furry friend the attention that he desires. Luckily there are several ways to ensure that he gets enough exercise.
A dog play pen is great for puppies or small dogs. The pen can be easily put up and taken down and can be placed in whichever room the family are in. This means that the dog can get some exercise by playing in the pen but will be out of harm’s way if you want to get on with other jobs.
By placing his dog kennel within a dog kennel run you will allow him to have some outdoor exercise time in an area from which he can’t escape or do any damage to the garden. A galvanised dog run will be very strong and able to withstand rough handling by the largest or most boisterous of dogs.
In short, a dog exercise pen is an ideal addition to daily walks for giving your dog all the opportunities to expend some energy that you can.
