It became the port of choice for ships and boats carrying supplies and people heading into California until the 1870s.

In addition, Point Loma has very beautiful scenery, and ocean views from this place are some of the best in the city. Sunset Cliffs is a premiere attraction for those who, like the name implies, enjoy watching sunsets. Surfing is also good in Point Loma, with beaches like New Break and Luscomb’s offering good surfing areas for enthusiasts from all over the world.
