The Jura Capresso Burr Grinder is designed to help any home coffee aficionado reach their desired levels of coffee grinding without seriously impeding on their budget.
There are two conical burr grinders that often get confused because of their similar names and the fact that they are produced by the same company, those grinders are the Jura Capresso Burr Coffee Grinder and the Jura Capresso Infinity Burr Coffee Grinder – there is only one thing different in their names (Infinity) yet the grinders are surprisingly different devices.
The Jura Capresso Burr Grinder is the entry level conical burr coffee grinder for the company, a solid piece of equipment that is designed to help any home coffee aficionado reach their desired levels of coffee grinding without seriously impeding on their budget. This is great and explains why the Jura Capresso is such a worthwhile purchase. If you are new to grinding coffee and experimenting with varying brew methods this is a great purchase and will last you many years.
On the other hand there is the Jura Capresso Infinity Burr Grinder, which has been reviewed with bullet points here. It has the same product specs as the standard Jura Capresso but it also has a few others that don’t often get mentioned. It is designed to grind at a slow sleep, which encourages a better and more consistent grind of the coffee beans and keeps the conical burrs from wearing down after too much use. It also has an easily detachable upper burr which allows for cleaning to be extremely simple. If you are grinding lots of finer coffee grounds like for espresso or Turkish coffee you will inevitably need to clean out the burrs from time to time. The Jura Capresso Infinity makes this incredibly easy.
As you can see, there are actually a number of differences between these two grinders. Both are very serious pieces of equipment and both make great investments to a new coffee lab, but the Infinity goes the extra mile in providing high quality coffee preparation without a serious pecuniary investment.
