Cheap Heartburn Remedies

Chamomile tea is one of the heartburn remedies that prevents heartburn from happening.

A heartburn (pyrosis) is developed when the esophagus is irritated caused by a stomach acid. This commonly occurs in the woman’s late pregnancy. There are heartburn remedies available to prevent it from recurring. In a heartburn, the pain mostly increases in the chest and radiates to the throat, neck, or at the angle of the jaw. Its symptoms are:

  • A burning feeling in the chest
  • Frequently burping
  • A taste on the mouth that is bitter or sour.
  • Foods such as chocolates, soda, fatty and spicy foods, coffee & caffeine drinks or foods, tomatoes, and onions triggers the occurrence of heart burn. It is important that you take the necessary heartburn remedies to have an immediate relief when this attacks.

Gastro-esophageal reflux disease’s (GERD) major symptom is heart burn. Below are tips for treating heartburn remedies:

Chamomile Tea
This tea prevents heartburn from happening. A sip during attacks will surely help.

Peppermint Tea
This tea also prevents heartburn from occurring; you just have to take sips of this during attacks as well as after each meal.

Baking Soda & Water
Mix ½ – 1 teaspoon (tsp) of baking soda per glass of water. This neutralizes stomach acid and should be taken moderately because this leads to an increase in salt intake. Pregnant women are not allowed to drink this because of the baking soda’s salt content.

Celery
This is an excellent choice for pregnant women in treating heartburn.

Apple Cider Vinegar
1 teaspoon – 2 tablespoons of ACV stop the tracks of heartburn. Apple cider vinegar mixed with honey also helps (2:1)

Mustard
In a heartburn attack, a spoonful or two helps bringing a minute or two relief.

Pickle juice
A drink or two of this settles the stomach.

Lemon juice
A half a glass of water, added to a 1 teaspoon lemon juice is an effective relief for heartburn.

Heartburn can be prevented by eating small frequent meals. This prevents the stomach from becoming full. Eat your main meal at lunch time and your evening meal earlier so that the body will be able to digest food earlier. Do not drink liquids together with your food, but do drink between meals only. It is recommended to just sit upright after a meal for awhile to not cause regurgitation. By following these heartburn remedies it is much easier for you to cope when these happens.
