It may seem odd but there seems to be a rising interest in themed bedding for kids and dinosaur bedding is one of the themes sought after the most. Now most kids do find dinosaurs interesting and some even fascinating and it seems that wanting to sleep with dinosaurs is catching on. Good bedding can be quite expensive and themed bedding can also be expensive, but themed bedding and good bedding are not always the same even though they share a similarity. It would not be fun to discover that the first laundering of the new dinosaur bedding rendered the animals faded and hard to see.
Good bedding can be discerned by reading the labels and buying bedding made from good materials and sturdy construction. 300 thread count sheets seem to be the high standard in cotton sheets, but that type of sheet might not be appropriate for young children. They can be extra hard on things and a fabric that is easy to wash and dry is the best choice. A cotton/poly blend fits that criteria and will probably also be cheaper and hold up a little better to repeated washings than a 100% cotton sheet will.
The best and warmest comforters are made baffles to hold the batting and keep it evenly distributed through out the comforter. Again this might not be the best choice for a young child as this type of comforter may need special laundering instruction s and may not work in a home dryer. A better choice for young children would be a quilted comforter where the two sides are simply sewn together. Just check out the stitching and make sure it is nice and tight across the entire comforter. Loose stitching won’t hold up to many times through the wash machine and you want that dinosaur bedding to last.
